NEWCASTLE ON TYNE MEDICAL MISSIONARY EXHIBITION - 1907.

            This Exhibition was opened by the Bishop of Newcastle and held in the Exhibition Building, Newcastle.  The object of the Exhibition was to raise money to build a new hospital in Gaza, Palestine at a cost of £1,500.  In fact, they reached thaqt sum on the opening day, the contributions being £2,000.

            Not only was the medical side of the Church Missionary Society work displayed, but the Education Industry, and Evangelical side were also depicted.  There were a series of courts, surmounted, in each case, by a large picture of the land and people.  Over 3,000 exhibits were on display, including specimens of native ornaments and craftwork.

            Lectures were given by visiting Missionaries and one important visitor was Mrs. Livingstone Wilson, the daughter of the famous Dr. Livingstone.  A seies of six postcards was produced for this Exhibition.
